I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I am in my early 20s, but I must confess to a complete and utter fascination with Les Schwab wheels.
In fact my fascination is extended to all wheels but because I have been going to Les Schwab since I was 5 with my father my fixation is on their particular brand of wheels.
And I have been looking at them for a very long time, waiting and dreaming about how they would look on my new car because I have always known that as soon as I would buy a new car I would instantly change it wheels in an attempt to personalize it and make it mine.
So I have been looking very intently at many of the Les Schwab wheels and when the time came I went down to the Les Schwab wheels and easily made up my mind about what I wanted to buy.
But I have written a lot more about that on my Les Schwab wheels blog post. What I want to do here is come back and talk about some of the best wheels they have and the reasons why they are so great. So the first thing you need to understand if you are thinking about getting a set of wheels is that they weren’t actually design to accessories cars but as an attempt to make the wheels lighter so they would perform better.
So there really is no point into looking at the full wheel models because they are actually going against the purpose of their creation and are therefore easily categorized as kitsch. And I am very happy to say that there are very few Les Schwab wheels that are thick enough to go against that rule.
However, the opposite is also true and you should refrain from buying some of the Les Schwab wheels that are too frail for the torque produced by your engine. This is, of course, something that the guys at the shop can help you with and they can help you decide which would be the best wheels for you.
If you are one of those people who love to leave a skid marks and a cloud of vaporized rubber when they leave from a stop sign then I would recommend using a double spokes design like the Nurburgring or the Trackstar. Anything more than that would actually go against the first rule of keeping the wheels as light as possible.
